Acid Hydrolysed Casein is for use in preparing microbiological culture media in a laboratory setting, and is not intended for use in the diagnosis of disease or other conditions in humans. A soluble protein hydrolysate obtained by digesting casein with hot acid. It is almost free from growth factors, vitamins and antagonists, and these qualities make it suitable for use as a protein source in media for antibiotic and vitamin assays.
